Youth organizations from Gradačac, including the KULT Gradačac Association, the Youth Council of the Gradačac Municipality, the Youth Association 'Futura,' and the Local Team Gradačac of the Association of High School Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ASuBiH), united under the joint initiative 'Change Strategy,' proudly announce a crucial step towards creating more favorable conditions for the youth in this local community.
The Mayor of Gradačac, Mr. Edis Dervišagić, recently made an important decision to develop a Youth Strategy for the period from 2024 to 2027, thereby supporting the efforts of youth organizations in providing concrete solutions to the challenges faced by young people and involving them in decision-making processes at the local level. The Youth Strategy is a sectoral strategic document of the City of Gradačac that defines a programmatic approach to working with young people, representing one of the minimum measures that local authorities must ensure for young people in accordance with Article 14 of the Law on Youth of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This decision confirms the commitment of local authorities to collaborate with the youth sector in creating an inclusive strategy that reflects the real needs of young people and contributes to strengthening their role in the local community. According to the decision, a working body will be formed, responsible for drafting this strategic document. The Mayor will appoint the members of this body by a special resolution, and the process of drafting the document will involve public institutions, educational institutions, youth organizations, and other non-governmental organizations operating in the city of Gradačac. This is an important step towards ensuring broad participation and diverse contributions.
Funds for the development of the Youth Strategy of the City of Gradačac for 2024-2027 are secured in the Budget of the City of Gradačac for the year 2024. The deadline for drafting this document is six months from the date of the decision, or by the end of June 2024.
Youth organizations invite citizens, media, and all interested parties to follow the further development of the 'Change Strategy' initiative and actively engage with their ideas, suggestions, and support. Open communication and collaboration with the local community are key to the success of this initiative.
