The Citizens’ Forum of Zenica organized a street action on Saturday, 27 June 2026, in Titova Street, near the Zeničanka department store, as part of the campaign “New Vehicles – Clear Rules”, with the aim of informing citizens and collecting signatures in support of an initiative to adopt a local decision regulating the use of light personal electric vehicles (LPEVs), including electric scooters, electric bicycles, and other similar means of transport.
During the three-hour action, more than 500 citizens visited the information stand, spoke with representatives of the Citizens’ Forum of Zenica, and expressed support for the need to regulate this area through clear and modern rules. Citizens had the opportunity to learn about the goals of the initiative, provide their suggestions, and sign their support for launching the process of adopting a decision before the Zenica City Council.
It is particularly encouraging that citizens recognized that the aim of this initiative is not to ban the use of electric scooters and other light personal electric vehicles, but rather to establish rules that will enable safer use of public space, protect pedestrians, ensure greater safety for LPEV users, and clearly define the obligations of all road users.
At the same time, an educational campaign has been launched on social media, within which six short video spots will be published in the coming period. In a modern and youth-friendly way, they address the topics of responsible use of light personal electric vehicles, the importance of mutual respect in traffic, and the need to establish clear rules that follow the development of new forms of urban mobility.
The Citizens’ Forum of Zenica thanks all citizens who visited the stand, spoke with team members, and contributed to this initiative through their signatures or support. The collection of signatures continues via an online form, allowing citizens who were unable to attend the street action to also support the initiation of the decision-making process.

After the campaign is completed and signatures are collected, the initiative will be submitted to the Zenica City Council with the aim of initiating the procedure for drafting and adopting a decision that will clearly and responsibly regulate the use of light personal electric vehicles in the city area.
