During Civic Activism Week – the City of Gradiška Accepted the Initiative of the Association “Mikro mreža”

During the week marking the International Day of Democracy and promoting civic activism, the City Administration of Gradiška adopted the initiative of the Citizens’ Association Mikro mreža to support young people in rural areas of the city on the Sava River.

This initiative has borne fruit, as the City of Gradiška will announce a public call for applications, enabling young people from rural areas of Gradiška to apply and start their own businesses. The call will be published tomorrow, September 22, as noted by the City Administration of Gradiška in their response to our initiative.

“The City of Gradiška has continuously supported young people through various start-up programs, and this time it will do so by specifically supporting youth in rural areas, with the aim of retaining this population in villages,” stated the City Administration of Gradiška.

We emphasize that during Civic Activism Week, the Citizens’ Association Mikro mreža distributed promotional leaflets highlighting the importance of active citizen participation in society, and the positive response from the City of Gradiška came as the crowning result of this effort. All of this indicates that citizens must not give up on their initiatives, and that institutions exist to work for them.

This campaign is part of the PRAGG project, funded by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by a consortium consisting of HELVETAS and NIRAS, in partnership with local partners Centers for Civic Initiatives (CCI) and the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
