At today’s press conference, the citizens' association “Mikro mreža” presented the results achieved so far in their work on the initiative to support young people in rural areas of Gradiška in starting their own businesses.

The public was presented with the activities that Mikro mreža has carried out in rural local communities, which include:

  • Organizing meetings in rural local communities with the presidents of local communities and young people
  • The results of survey questionnaires conducted among about 100 young people from the rural areas of Gradiška
  • Distributing informational leaflets about ways young people can start their own businesses
  • Meetings with representatives of the City Administration of Gradiška

Regarding the meetings with representatives of the local communities in Gornji Podgradci and Nova Topola, the association "Mikro mreža" emphasized that they held one meeting in each community to introduce the initiative. Following this, the local community representatives invited all interested young people from their communities to a subsequent meeting, where the youth were informed in detail about the initiative.

During the presentation of the initiative to the young people, a survey questionnaire was conducted with them, which showed that more than 70 percent of the youth want to stay in their local communities and start their own businesses there.

In addition to the mentioned activities, representatives of the association “Mikro mreža” informed the residents of the local communities about the requirements for starting a business and distributed informational leaflets to them.

In conclusion, the association “Mikro mreža” emphasized that they had a productive meeting with representatives of the City Administration of Gradiška, who explained that they continuously support entrepreneurship in the Gradiška area. The conclusion was that young people in rural areas need more support to encourage them to stay in the countryside, and therefore the City Administration of Gradiška stated that they will support the mentioned initiative.
