Today, Jablanica echoed with songs, music, and the laughter of children, as well as all those who enjoyed the program of the humanitarian bazaar “When Little Hands Join Together.” The event was organized by the association “Be My Friend” in partnership with other local organizations, including the Cultural and Artistic Society “Neretva,” the Women’s Association “Most,” the Humanitarian Association for Children’s Aid “El-Emin,” the Scout Troop “Jablan,” the Accordion Orchestra “Jablanica,” and a group from the kindergarten “Pčelica.” The goal of this humanitarian bazaar was to raise funds for the renovation and furnishing of the first Inclusive Center in Jablanica.
“I’m very pleased with how today’s humanitarian bazaar turned out. As the name itself says – ‘When Little Hands Join Together’ – we once again witnessed how the people of Jablanica united and recognized the importance of establishing and opening the Inclusive Center. Let me remind you that the Municipality of Jablanica has provided us with a space to house the Center. Additionally, the Municipal Council of Jablanica included the association ‘Be My Friend’ in the 2025 Budget, allocating 20,000 BAM for the establishment and operation of the Inclusive Center. Now, the space needs to be renovated and equipped. There’s still a lot of work ahead of us, but we are encouraged by the fact that a truly large number of people are standing with us and supporting our efforts. Not only today, but also in the past period, individuals, companies, and institutions have reached out, generously donating and supporting us to persist and not give up”, said Edina Husrep, president of the “Be My Friend” Association in Jablanica.
A large number of public figures, athletes, actors, singers, and media professionals have publicly expressed their support for this extremely important and valuable initiative. The campaign ambassadors, Adisa Dedić Kološ, editor at BHT1, and Dijana Kukolj, president of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Neretva” from Jablanica, are making a significant contribution through their engagement. Much of the credit for today’s event goes to Dijana Kukolj, who stated: “I am extremely proud and happy to have had the opportunity to help children with developmental difficulties and their families. It is very important that we put the Inclusive Center into peration as soon as possible so that all children with disabilities in the Jablanica area have the chance to receive daily education and support for their development. I’d also like to say that, in fact, we are just getting started. We have no intention of stopping. On the contrary, we will do everything we can to make sure people all over Bosnia and Herzegovina—and even beyond—hear about the Inclusive Center in Jablanica. As a Cultural and Artistic Society, we will spread this positive story wherever we go.”
Members of the “Be My Friend” Association are calling on all people of goodwill to join this initiative and help raise the much-needed funds. A humanitarian phone line is currently active through BH Telecom—call 090 292 012, and the cost of one call is 3 BAM. All funds collected will be primarily used for the renovation and furnishing of the Inclusive Center. Afterwards, the funds will also support the work of professional staff—including a psychologist, special education teacher, educational rehabilitator, medical technician, speech therapist, and occupational therapist—who will work with children and their parents five days a week.
By taking part in the program of today’s humanitarian bazaar “When Little Hands Join Together,” support was also given by fellow citizens from the Folklore Ensemble “Neretva,” the Scout Troop “Jablan,” and the Accordion Orchestra “Jablanica.”
