At the public event “Together for Inclusion,” organized by the Association “Be My Friend,” a large number of supporters gathered — people who have selflessly contributed over time to the effort of opening the first Inclusive Center in Jablanica. During the event, all activities conducted so far were presented, including the important milestone of the Jablanica Municipal Council including the “Be My Friend” Association in the 2025 municipal budget, allocating 20,000 BAM for the establishment and operation of the Inclusive Center. Subsequently, a lease agreement was signed for premises located at Trg Oslobođenja 27, where the Center will be housed. However, the keys to the space have yet to be handed over to the Association — a step expected to happen soon.
Edina Husrep, President of the “Be My Friend” Association, shared with attendees how proud she is of what the Association has achieved in the past year. “I sincerely hope that all remaining obstacles will be overcome as soon as possible so we can finally move into the space allocated to us by the Municipal Council. First, we need to renovate and adapt the space to meet the needs of our children, and then equip it properly to ensure their safety. All of this requires funding, which we currently do not have enough of. I want to take this opportunity to thank all past donors and also call on kind-hearted people to recognize the importance of this initiative and invest in the future of our most vulnerable children and their families.”
In addition to Adisa Dedić Kološ, editor at BHT1 and campaign ambassador, Danijela Kukolj, president of the Cultural and Artistic Association “Neretva” from Jablanica, has also joined as a campaign ambassador. She stated that she and the organization she leads will do everything in their power to contribute to a more inclusive society and ensure that children in the Jablanica area begin benefiting from the services of the Inclusive Center as soon as possible. All funds raised will not only be used to equip the Center but also to hire professional staff such as a psychologist, special education teacher, educational rehabilitator, medical technician, speech therapist, and occupational therapist — all of whom will work with both children and their parents.
In recent days, a humanitarian phone line was activated — 090 292 012 — currently available only for BH Telecom users. The cost of one call is 3 BAM. The “Be My Friend” Association invites all kind-hearted individuals to join their efforts and help provide a better quality of life for the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community. “I am very optimistic, especially after seeing the level of support from public figures, businesspeople, and even people living outside Bosnia and Herzegovina. I truly believe that by the end of this year, we will reach our goal and organize the grand opening of the Inclusive Center in Jablanica,” concluded Edina Husrep.
