The residents of the local community of Opličići, located between Čapljina and Stolac, have come together to form an informal citizens' group called "Together for a Clean Opličići". Their main goal is to find a solution to the issue of municipal waste collection in this area. Since this problem has never been properly addressed, it remains the primary reason why illegal dump sites exist and continue to grow in this beautiful community. These dumps are filled daily, and when set on fire, they further pollute the air and soil, also threatening the nearby Bregava River. As a result, the health of all residents in this community — and the broader area — is put at risk.
