The citizens' association "Mikro mreža" has launched an initiative to support young people in rural communities. Specifically, the association plans to use public advocacy in the coming period to encourage the institutions of the city of Gradiška to provide greater support for the development of youth entrepreneurship in rural areas.
"In this regard, we have initiated activities that involve bringing together representatives of local communities centered around the two largest rural local communities – Gornji Podgradci and Nova Topola – in order to discuss support for young people in developing entrepreneurship in these parts of Gradiška. We have already carried out the first activity in Gornji Podgradci, where we held discussions with around 20 members and representatives of the local communities of Gornji Podgradci, Donji Podgradci, Turjak, Vrbaška, Gašnica, Jablanica, Dragelji, and Lužani about the current situation regarding youth and their willingness to stay in the countryside and start their own businesses. We plan to carry out the same activity in Nova Topola, where we expect to meet with representatives of the local communities surrounding this area", stated the citizens' association "Mikro mreža."
It is important to emphasize that the citizens' association "Mikro mreža" has recognized the lack of support for young people in developing entrepreneurship in rural areas, and the need to find a mechanism to encourage youth to remain in the countryside. This initiative represents one of the steps toward that goal, where the City Administration of Gradiška is expected to allocate specific funds to support young people in launching their own businesses in rural communities.
Following these activities, a survey of young people is planned, along with the presentation of other support programs available to them, both at the entity level and at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
