The research on citizens' perceptions and attitudes towards the non-governmental sector is a response to the need of the PRAGG project (Proactive Citizens) to understand how and in what way people in the targeted local communities see and experience the non-governmental organizations operating in those communities, as well as their activities and engagement in the field.
To ensure that local civil society organizations are included in the research from its early stages, the research team collaborated with local non-governmental organizations from 28 targeted municipalities and cities.
The survey used the CAPI method (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing). In practice, this meant that the questionnaire was digitized, programmed, and uploaded onto tablets. Surveyors conducted traditional face-to-face interviews, asked questions, and recorded the responses through tablets, which automatically stored the data in a database.
The sample consisted of citizens from local communities, forming 4 PRAGG cycles:
Cycle I - Bijeljina, Tešanj, Gradačac, Laktaši, Ljubuški, Ilijaš, Nevesinje;
Cycle II - Bihać, Gračanica, Prijedor, Teslić, Trebinje, Zenica, Žepče;
Cycle III - Mostar, Gradiška, Sanski Most, Čapljina, Modriča, Gacko, Jablanica;
Cycle IV - Doboj, Cazin, Prnjavor, Maglaj, Odžak, Srbac, and Breza;
The results of the research in the 28 local communities from the 4 PRAGG cycles are available HERE.
Currently, research is underway in the remaining 8 communities included through the last, V cycle, and the results will be available in the fall of 2025.
