How can civil society adapt its role as a democratic actor in the changing context? What new strategies are needed to safeguard civic space? Where do opportunities for impactful interventions still exist?
These critical questions, along with many others, were addressed during a meeting at the Helvetas BiH office, focused on the timely and essential topic: “Space for Civil Society in BiH in Times of Reduced Funding and Restrictive Laws.” The meeting brought together key representatives from SDC, and Helvetas with its partners CCI and KULT from the PRAGG project.
As international funding decreases and new regulations affect the sector, the conversation explored how civil society can adapt, stay resilient, and continue driving democratic change. These discussions are more crucial than ever as we navigate these times when democratic principles are being heavily challenged.
