The campaign "We will not die in silence" has continued with the same intensity of street actions across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Street actions were held in the following cities: Bihać – City Square, Organization "Glas žene"; Cazin – Golden Lily Square, Association "Tim Volim život"; Ključ – plaza in front of the shopping center, Association "Izvor" Sanski Most, and Association "Lejla" Ključ.

During the action, citizens signed a petition to support the initiative to introduce femicide as a separate criminal offense in the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Neira Raković, the project coordinator, emphasized: “The campaign 'We will not die in silence' is being successfully implemented as planned in the Una-Sana Canton, Tuzla Canton, and Sarajevo Canton across various cities and municipalities. So far, 10 street actions have been held, and we have collected 3,506 signatures of support from citizens. To date, the initiative has also been supported by 11 representatives/delegates of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Una-Sana Canton.”

Street actions have also been very successfully held in Cazin. In this regard, the local coordinator of the Association "Tim Volim život", Emira Mizić stated: “We thank the citizens for their great response at each of our street actions, as well as for recognizing the importance of regulating femicide in the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are grateful for the signatures supporting the initiative to amend the Criminal Code of the FBIH.”

The campaign "We will not die in silence" aims to collect 10,000 signatures in support of the initiative to amend the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submit this initiative to the Federal Parliament, and ensure that the Criminal Code of the FBIH is amended to provide adequate legal regulation of femicide.

“In Ključ, we held a street action that took place in a warm and supportive atmosphere, and citizens generously offered their support in the form of signatures. It's interesting to note that a large number of men signed in support of the action, and through conversation, they also provided verbal support for the campaign, which makes us especially happy”, said Rada Krupić from the Association "Izvor", Sanski Most.

The statistics are alarming: according to UNODC, a total of 78 cases of femicide were recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 2015 and 2022, while in the first half of 2024, 7 women were killed. These figures clearly indicate the urgent need for legal changes.

We invite all citizens to join our fight by signing in support of this initiative and thus contribute to better protection for women in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
