We recently reported on the start of a training cycle on the use of formal mechanisms for citizen participation aimed at citizens and representatives of civil society organizations. Continuing in this spirit, we are now focusing on Mostar and Gradiška. These training sessions are part of our ongoing efforts through the PRAGG project to strengthen the capacities and knowledge of citizens, local organizations, and all other community stakeholders.
Through dynamic workshops and interactive lectures, participants had the opportunity to gain deeper insights into key aspects of conducting advocacy campaigns, developing strategies, and citizen participation mechanisms. One participant from Gradiška highlighted: “We will strive to submit more initiatives to the City Administration to address the issues faced by people with disabilities. We will also reach out to you to better formulate an important initiative.”
The training sessions were particularly significant for their discussions, questions, and experience-sharing, creating a rich and dynamic atmosphere. This approach allowed participants to develop new perspectives and ideas. These trainings are part of a broader range of activities carried out by PRAGG to support citizens and civil society organizations in the process of capacity building and work improvement.
"I really liked the atmosphere. It will be easier for me, on behalf of the organization I come from, to launch initiatives in the field of humanitarian work that we are engaged in," said one participant.
Additional training sessions are planned for the coming weeks, specifically in Zenica and Prijedor. The ultimate goal is to achieve positive changes in the community, provide necessary information to citizens who want to be part of the decision-making process in their community, and ultimately support some of the initiatives that are important and impactful for a larger number of citizens.
We thank the Gradiška Development Agency and the Student Hotel Mostar for providing the workspace.
