During his visit to Trebinje yesterday, the Swiss Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Daniel Hunn, met with an informal group of citizens gathered around the advocacy initiative to build a playground with equipment for children in Trebinje.

This initiative started in June of the current year when the PRAGG team, through surveys, research, and dynamic street actions, identified over 440 issues in Trebinje with the participation of more than 300 citizens. Following thorough analysis, the lack of playgrounds for children with equipment was identified as a priority issue.

Over the past three months, the PRAGG team has been working diligently with a group of citizens, including individual and joint meetings, capacity-building training, and ultimately developing a comprehensive implementation plan for the initiative. The start of this advocacy campaign will also involve strategic engagement with local authorities, demonstrating how collaborative efforts can lead to concrete positive changes.

Ambassador Hunn emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives that arise from the communities themselves, and this project of a playground for children with equipment in Trebinje is an excellent example of how joint efforts can shape a better future for the youngest!

PRAGG is funded by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the consortium of HELVETAS and NIRAS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with Centres for Civic Initiatives (CCI) and Institute for Youth Development KULT.
