As a part of the PRAGG project - Proactive Citizens, the Days of Civic Participation were organized in September, encompassing three days of surveys and interviews with citizens on the streets of Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Čapljina, Gacko, Gradačac, Gradiška, Ilijaš, Jablanica, Laktaši, Modriča, Mostar, Nevesinje, Sanski Most, Sarajevo, Tešanj, and Tuzla. The aim was to identify the most pressing challenges faced by communities. As a result of these discussions and surveys, five priority issues were identified for each local community, prompting citizens to call for urgent action from relevant institutions.

In an effort to initiate collaborative efforts to enhance citizens' quality of life and instigate positive societal changes, representatives of the local government were presented with the top five issues from each of the 16 above mentioned local communities. These issues, identified by citizens as priorities for resolution, include common challenges such as poor roads and infrastructure, inadequate parking, air pollution, waste management issues, insufficient trash bins, and a lack of parks and playgrounds for children.

"Competent institutions play a pivotal role in improving service quality and citizens' lives. Consequently, we have shared the survey results with representatives of authorities in local self-government units, aiming to acquaint them with the concerns identified by citizens in their respective communities. We have urged local government representatives to initiate activities within their purview for the swift resolution of these identified issues. PRAGG is committed to supporting citizen groups advocating solutions to these problems," emphasize representatives of the PRAGG project.

Given that citizens have openly voiced the key problems in their communities, it is now incumbent upon the local government to dedicate time to analyze the provided information and actively contribute to resolving the priority issues identified by citizens.
