The citizens’ association C.E.Z.A.R. proudly informs the public that significant results have been achieved within the campaign launched by the association with PRAGG support. The document Local Youth Policy of the Municipality of Srbac for the period 2026–2030 was officially adopted at the eighth session of the Municipality Assembly of Srbac, held on 25 November 2025.

The adoption of this strategic document represents an important step forward in improving the position of young people in our local community. The process of initiating and preparing the document lasted just under a year and included numerous meetings with donors, decision-makers, young people, and representatives of institutions working with youth. Months of dedicated and professional work are now behind us, resulting in a document that will serve as the foundation for future youth work and youth support in Srbac.

The document will be publicly available on the website www.ug-cezar.com in the coming days.

As part of the process of drafting the Local Youth Policy of the Municipality of Srbac, C.E.Z.A.R. implemented a series of activities over the past months aimed at involving young people in decision-making and improving their position within the community. Key activities included:

• Organizing open dialogues and consultations with young people, institutions, and decision-makers
• Holding educational workshops and meetings of the working group responsible for drafting the document
• Conducting a street action during which young people distributed informational leaflets and surveyed citizens on youth policy priorities
• Surveying young people about their needs and position in the municipality
• Partner cooperation with the Municipality of Srbac, Public High School “Petar Kočić” Srbac, NGO “Milenijum,” and the Public Employment Service of Republika Srpska
• Active participation of youth in the “Coffee with the Mayor” activity, where they presented proposals that directly contributed to improvements in the document and practice
• Participation of C.E.Z.A.R. representatives and young people in a reception with the Mayor on the occasion of entering the finals for the Youth Activism Award
• An intensive media campaign on social networks

These activities confirm that young people in Srbac are ready to participate, propose, and shape their community, while C.E.Z.A.R. continues to provide them with support and space for active engagement. Symbolically and proudly, the association highlights that all these achievements come in the year in which it marks 15 years of dedicated work.

Volunteering Included for the First Time in the Scholarship Scoring System

The Municipality Assembly of Srbac also considered the Decision on Student Scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year, and one of the most significant innovations is the introduction of volunteering into the scoring system. Students who possess an active volunteer booklet will receive two points during the scholarship award process.

This initiative originated directly from young people during the “Coffee with the Mayor” activity, held in September this year, where youth discussed their ideas with the Mayor, Mr. Mlađan Dragosavljević. By introducing volunteering into the scholarship system, a clear message is being sent about the importance of active youth participation in the community — fittingly just ahead of the celebration of the International Volunteer Day.
