Democracy is not a distant idea. It lives within each of us – in the questions we ask, in the courage to get involved, and in the will to change our communities.

In eight local communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina – from Banja Luka and Bratunac, through Konjic, Livno, Travnik and Tuzla, all the way to Vitez and Zavidovići – during the Civic Participation Days 2025, citizens showed that change begins when we speak up.

Through dialogue, proposals, and collective action, they proved that there is no democracy without citizens – and that every idea can spark something big.
