With warmer weather, the premises in Jablanica, which will house the Inclusive center for children with developmental disabilities, will shine.

After last week's decision on the allocation of business premises for the needs of the Inclusive center, the final step, which can also be called the formal one, is the handing over of the keys to the designated space. With this, the Municipal Council of Jablanica has completed its work regarding the Inclusive center.

After receiving the keys, immediately after Eid, the members of the 'Budi mi prijatelj' Association, which initiated this entire project, will begin with the renovation and then the interior design. Additional faith in the goodness of people is instilled by those who have already announced and promised their concrete help. Among them are painters who will provide their services for free. Some associations and companies have already come forward and stated that they will donate money or equipment needed for the Center's operations. But this is not the end, as an appeal has been made to everyone who can offer assistance to do so, and knowing that people in our area are generally very sensitive and empathetic towards those in need, especially when it comes to children, it is to be believed that the response will be great in this case as well.

Since the Inclusive center is a place where professional and trained individuals will provide support to children, as well as older users with developmental disabilities, it is important to know that a speech therapist and a defectologist are already secured, without whom the work would not be possible. In the near future, it will also be necessary to hire a psychologist and a pedagogue. All of them are extremely important in order for children with developmental disabilities to improve their motor and social skills, which is easier and faster to achieve if the children are worked with on a daily basis, rather than as it has been until now—two to three times a week. In addition to working with an occupational therapist, the goal is also to equip the Center with a sensory and relaxation room in the near future. Of course, all of this requires time and money, but when there is an idea and determination, it is easier to reach the goal.

The need for the existence of the Inclusive center in Jablanica arose because, until now, parents had to drive their children to educational institutions in Mostar, Konjic, or Sarajevo three times a week at most. This required very high costs, as well as time and energy. And what is most important is that, in order for progress to be visible in children with disabilities, it is necessary to work with them every day. Now, this will be achieved.

It is important to remind that the new composition of the Municipal Council of Jablanica has shown empathy and understanding from the very first day for the needs of parents of children with developmental disabilities. At the end of last year, they allocated 20,000 KM in the Budget for the operation of the Inclusive center, then they assigned the premises, and the final step is the handing over of the keys.

It is nice to know that in our country there are local authorities who have a sense of responsibility and empathy for those in need, and that they are doing what they should do to create equal opportunities for every one of their residents.
