About PRAGG
The project PRAGG - Proaktivni građani i građanke (proactive citizens) aims at more active participation of citizens, especially the socially excluded, in the advocacy and creation of public policies through engagement in civil society organizations. At the same time, PRAGG will support civil society organizations to represent the voice of citizens and demand reforms through participation in democratic processes, thus contributing to social change in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The first phase of the PRAGG project started on June 1, 2022, and will last until May 31, 2027. PRAGG is funded by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the consortium of HELVETAS and NIRAS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with Centres for Civic Initiatives (CCI) and Institute for Youth Development KULT.
Goals
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) intensify their engagement with citizens, particularly with women, youth and socially excluded groups, to articulate their most urgent concerns and demand the authorities at all levels of government to respond to these concerns.
ENGAGEMENT
CSOs form alliances and work together strategically and professionally in demanding reforms and accountability from the relevant authorities in response to citizens' urgent concerns.
COLLABORATION
CSOs actively participate in formal consultation mechanisms, contributing to policy and decision-making processes. In this way, better policies and practices can be achieved that respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, that are democratic, socially inclusive and responsive to the rights, needs and priorities of citizens.
PARTICIPATION
That BIH improves its environment for the development of civil society, which will include enhancement of the institutional, legal and tax framework for the development and activities of citizens and CSOs.
